The top bschool has released its MBA 2022-24 Admission Policy signifying 40% weightage to CAT 2021 score for shortlisting of candidates and in the final selection round the weight is 25%. Stage 1: Preliminary screening
In stage 1, candidates will be shortlisted based on their CAT percentile. The candidates who meet both the sectional and minimum cutoff criteria are considered for further rounds of IIM Bangalore selection process.

Stage II: Shortlisting for Analytical Writing Test (AWT) and Personal Interview (PI)
The shortlisted candidates from those who satisfy the stage 1 criteria would be called for AWT-PI based on the composite scores derived using the below-mentioned parameters and their corresponding weights.

The 40 points for CAT are derived from the performance in each of the three sections as follows: Verbal & Reading Comprehension (VARC) - 14 points, Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR) - 16 points, and Quantitative Aptitude (QA) - 10 points.
For first shortlist weightage of work experience will be calculated as
= 8x/36 if 0<x<36
=8 if x>=36 (where x is months of work Experience upto July 2021)
Note : The work experience score (maximum 8 in the pre-PI stage) will be scaled down to a maximum score of 5 and then multiplied by the quality of work experience score on a 5 point scale (0.25, 0.5, 1 , 1.5, 2) as given by interviewersin the PI processin Phase 2 to then arrive at a weighted work experience score.
After deriving the composite scores, composite cut offs will be decided in each category for short listing candidates for Stage II of the selection process. The number of candidates to be shortlisted for AWT-PI in each category depends on the size of the incoming batch.
Stage III: Criteria for Final Selection for the MBA programme
For the candidates appearing in Stage II, a composite score for the final selection will be derived using the parameters and the corresponding weights listed below. This composite score will be used for preparation of category-wise merit list.

The MBA program is divided into 6 quarters of 9-12 instructional weeks including assessment every year. The institute gives weightage to a course by using credit points. A three-credit course involves about 100 hours of work, 30% in the classroom and the rest for preparation and assignments.
