CLAT 2022- The Consortium of National Law Universities had confirmed the revised CLAT 2022 schedule on its official website. Candidates having 45% marks in Class 12, fulfilling the minimum CLAT 2022 Eligibility Criteria can apply online. As CLAT 2022  is now going to be held a month later candidates are having enough time to solve CLAT Previous Year Question Paper to get better clarity on exam pattern, syllabus, and the difficulty level of the exam. 

  • As per CLAT 2022 Exam Pattern, the exam will be conducted in offline mode. The total number of questions (MCQ type) in the UG exam will be 150 and in the PG exam will be 120.

CLAT 2022 Eligibility Criteria

CLAT 2022 Eligibility criteria enable the candidates with 45% marks in the qualifying exam to appear for the national level exam. Also, 5% relaxation in qualifying marks i.e. 40% marks are required to apply for the exam if a candidate belongs to the reserved category. 

  • There is no age limit to apply or appear for CLAT. 
  • NRIs, OCIs, PIOs & Foreign Nationals can also apply or appear for CLAT.

CLAT 2022 Application Form

The process to fill CLAT 2022 Application Form is mentioned below. 

  • Go to the official website of the Consortium of NLU’s. 
  • Start the application process through the official website. 
  • Enter the email address and phone number for registration. 
  • After validating the number, log in to the site using the phone number and password.
  • Enter the information carefully and check before going to the submit button. 
  • Enter preferences among the 22 national law universities. 
  • Pay the required amount of application fees through the online mode by using the payment portal of Net Banking/Credit Card/Debit Card/UPI
  • Upload the important documents. 
  • Click on the Submit button. 
  • Take a printout of the same.

CLAT Exam Pattern

CLAT 2022 Exam Pattern

  • Based on CLAT 2022 Exam Pattern, for each question, there will be 1 mark for marking the correct answer. 
  • As a negative marking, 0.25 will be deducted for each incorrect answer. 
  • A total of 200 MCQ type questions will be there in the test. 
  • The duration of the CLAT Exam will be 2 hours.

Ans: CNLU i.e. Consortium of National Law University is responsible for conducting the exam. CNLU has released CLAT 2022 and 2023 examination dates. The 2022 exam is scheduled to be held on June 19, 2022, and the 2023 exam is scheduled for Dec 18, 2022.

Ans: CLAT is conducted for a total of 200 marks. Based on the cut off analysis of previous years scoring around or above 100th rank can get you admission to some of the top NLUs.

English Language Preparations

  • All the questions from this section are framed from the 10+2 level syllabus. 
  • The topic of the passage can vary; it can be technical, scientific topics, or current issues, or historical events of significance, but prior knowledge in these subjects is not required. 
  • Understand the main focus of the passage first, followed by 5 W's- Who, What, Why, When, and Where. 
  • Vocabulary questions are of 2 types, i.e. the meaning of a word or phrase or the meaning of a word or phrase in the context of the passage
  • Regularly read the editorial sections of reputed newspapers and magazines, especially if written by imminent lawyers on issues about the law. 
  • With the help of grammar books of 10+2 level, candidates can have a clear idea of all the topics. 

Logical Reasoning Preparations

  • Must identify all the premises along with the conclusion by which the subject matter can be identified. 
  • Analyse all the sets of arguments. 
  • Try to read all the sections carefully and make it a habit to avoid some misleading questions. 
  • Sometimes the same passage can be used for English and Legal Reasoning. Consider this while preparing.

Legal Reasoning Preparations

  • All types of factual information will be there in the passages. It will help to gain some basic legal awareness. 
  • Divide all the main topics into subtopics to keep the words like ‘AND’ and ‘OR’. A similar case needs to be repeated with facts.
  • Never apply biases or previous knowledge of the law to the answer you mark. Try to answer based on details given to you. 
  • The section of logical reasoning along with legal reasoning and the English language is almost similar. Before preparation, try to keep it in mind.
  • Try to practise all the sections of legal reasoning daily for not less than 30 minutes.

CLAT 2022 Result will be released online on the official website which can be accessed by following the below mentioned steps. 

  • For viewing CLAT Results, candidates must click on the link “Result” on the official site, which will be available after CLAT Results Declaration.
  • Following this, click on the tab “View Result” 
  • After that log in to the site using your phone number and password. 
  • After releasing CLAT Result 2022, candidates will receive a provisional admission to an NLU. Based on preference and merit rank secured in CLAT 2022. 
  • On the website, a merit list containing the name of the colleges will be released on the official website. And it will be placed under the “Result” tab.

Ans. The minimum rate of acceptance for applying to the top NLUs through CLAT is around 3% as each year, around 70,000 to 75,000 candidates register themselves for the test. But there are only 2,175 seats available in all the NLUs.

Ans. AILET is considered more difficult than CLAT 2022 because of the limited availability of the number of seats. Though both the exam patterns are similar, Delhi Law University comparatively has a small number of seats for the law course to the 23 NLUs in the contentment.

You need to fill out the CLAT application form and select the course (BALLB, LLB and LLM) in which you are interested. You need to appear for CLAT and need to qualify with the qualifying scores. If you are in your second year that means you are applying for the postgraduate program in Law. However, to be eligible for the CLAT PG you need to complete your five years LLB program / equivalent exam with 50 percent scores from the recognized university. Therefore, you are not eligible for the exam right now.

The application dates for the year 2023 for the entrance examination CLAT is not yet announced by the examination board. When the application procedure is open, you have to visit the official website, of the Consortium of NLU’s and fill in the application forms.

There is Post Graduate Diploma available in Social Work specialisation. For being eligible you must have completed your graduation with at least 55% in the aggregate and from a recognised university. The PG diploma course in Social Work is available in both modes online and offline. You can also do this work at distance education mode from IGNOU.

CLAT 2022 Reservations are done by the consortium of NLUs based on central and state government. A candidate will have to produce a disability certificate from a competent authority in accordance with the provisions of the Act. The CLAT examiners provide need-based assistance to the Persons With Disability (PWD) candidates. The PWD candidates are also entitled to an additional time of 40 minutes.

On the basis of the total score in CLAT 2022, candidates can participate in the admission process for UG and PG programs. After the declaration of CLAT Result 2022, candidates will be shortlisted for the counseling session. CLAT Merit List 2022 will be made and released on the official website in PDF format. It will be released by the CLAT Committee.

No, there is no age limit for appearing for CLAT 2022. CLAT Eligibility 2022 is that candidates must have completed their qualifying examination with a minimum of 45% aggregate. Also, 5% relaxation is given to candidates of the reserved category. CLAT Eligibility criteria will allow the candidates to complete CLAT 2022 Registration, however, candidates are given admissions only if they clear the requirements of the university.

The candidates who are eligible to fill the application forms for CLAT LLM, the fee for the categories GEN/OBC/PwD/NRI/PIO/OCI is INR 4000. For the candidates who belong to the categories SC/ST/BPL have to pay the fee of INR 3500. The candidates who have completed their LLB are eligible for LLM.
