JEE Main 2022 Application Form for Phase 1 has been released on March 1, 2022. NTA has released JEE Main 2022 Application Form on the official website at- or Candidates can apply for JEE Main 2022 till March 31, 2022 (5 PM). The last date for payment of application fee is March 31, 2022 (11:30 PM). JEE Main 2022 Application Fee for General/Gen-EWS/ OBC(NCL) boys applying for a single paper is INR 650/-. For girls and SC/ST/PwD/Transgender, there is a 50% relaxation and they have to pay INR 325/- for a single paper. 

  • As per JEE Main 2022 Eligibility, candidates who have passed Class 12 in 2021, 2020 or appearing in 2022 irrespective of their age are eligible to sit for JEE Main 2022
  • JEE Main 2022 will be conducted only twice this year. Candidates can register for both the sessions at once, while filling JEE Main Application Form, a candidate must pay the application fee accordingly. Check JEE Main 2022 Attempts
  • This year, NO form correction facility will be provided once the application form has been submitted. Candidates are therefore advised to fill their JEE Main 2022 Application Form very carefully.

JEE Main 2022 Age Limit

  • There is no age limit for appearing in JEE Main 2022.
  • Candidates who have passed class 12th / equivalent examination in 2020 or appearing in 2022 irrespective of their age can appear for JEE Main 2022.

JEE Main 2022 Number of Attempts

  • JEE Main candidates can participate in the entrance exam for 3 consecutive years.
  • The exam will be conducted twice a year, candidates may appear in both sessions.
  • If a candidate sits for both sessions, it shall be counted as a single attempt.

JEE Main 2022 Educational Qualification

  • Students who passed their XII or equivalent exam in 2020 or appearing in 2022 are eligible for applying in JEE Main 2022.
  • For B.Planning, the candidates should have passed the qualifying examination with 50 % marks in Mathematics and 50% marks in aggregate of the qualifying examination.
  • It is essential for B.E/ B.Tech applicants to have passed the qualifying examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational subjects.
  • It is essential for B. Arch applicants to have passed the qualifying examination with Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry.

JEE Main 2022 Year of Appearance in Qualifying Examination

  • Students who passed their XII or equivalent exam in 2020, 2021, or appearing in 2022 are eligible for applying in JEE Main 2022.
  • Candidates who passed Class 12th/Qualifying examination in 2019 or before as well as those who will appear in such examination in 2023 or later are not eligible to appear in JEE Main 2022.

Eligible candidates are required to submit all the required documents while filling JEE Main 2022 Application Form. These include:

Step 1 – JEE Main Registration 2022:

  • Visit JEE Main Official Website –
  • Click on “Apply for JEE(Main) – 2022”.

  • Read the instructions, tick the box and select “Click here to Proceed”
  • Application number will be generated after submission of personal details. The application number shall be used for completing the remaining steps of the registration process and for future reference.
  • Fill the Registration Form by Personal Details like Candidate’s name, Mother’s name, Father’s name, Gender, DOB etc.
  • Fill your Contact Details – Address, City name, Email Address, Pin Code, Mobile Number etc.
  • The candidate is required to choose a password and a security question and enter his/her answer for the same.
  • Candidate’s must note down the security question and answer for future reference.
  • As a final step, candidates need to fill the displayed security pin and click on “Submit”

Step 2 –Complete JEE Main Application Form

  • Candidate can login with the generated application number and created password for completing the Application form.
  • Aspirants appearing for JEE Main 2022 are required to enter details like Personal Details, Paper name, Exam City Preferences, Question Paper Medium, Educational Details, Parents Income Details etc.
  • Tick the Declaration.
  • After reviewing the details, Click on “Final Submit”

Step 3 – JEE Main Application – Uploading Documents

  • After filling in the online form, candidates are required to scan and upload photograph and signature as per the defined guidelines by NTA.
  • The recent photograph should be coloured or black/white (but clear contrast).
  • Scanned photograph and signature should be in JPG/JPEG format.
  • Size of scanned photograph should be between 10 kb to 200 kb.
  • Size of scanned signature should be between 4 kb to 30 kb.
  • Application forms with unclear photographs will be rejected.
  • Please keep 6-8 identical photographs in reserve for use at the time of exam, seat allotment and admission.
  • Upload the correct Photograph and Signature as the facility for correction in images will not be given.
  • Upload 12th class/equivalent Admit Card/Mark Sheet/ Certificate (size 50kb to 500kb)

Step 4 – Payment of JEE Main Application Fee 2022

  • JEE Main 2022 Application Fee can be paid via Credit/ Debit Card/ Net Banking/ PAYTM/ UPI.
  • Along with the fee, candidates have to pay service/Processing charges per transaction & GST (applicable at 18%).
  • After successful payment, candidate will be able to print the Confirmation Page.
  • If the Confirmation Page is not generated after payment of fee then the transaction is cancelled and the candidates have to approach the concerned bank for refund of amount.
  • The candidate has to make another payment/transaction, in case the Confirmation Page is not generated.
  • The candidates are required to check the status of fee payment at NTA websites – and
  • If the status is ‘OK’ the candidate will be able to take the printout of the Confirmation Page.

JEE Main 2022 Application Fee

  • Candidates can select the sessions they wish to appear for and pay the fee accordingly.
  • JEE Main 2022 Application Fee is refundable. If a student is unable to attend any particular session, he/she may apply for a refund.
  • But the candidate will not be able to transfer the registration to another month.
  • The fee refund must also be applied for within the time the application window is opened.

If the fee payment status is not ‘OK’ the candidates are advised to:

  • In case the fee is paid through credit/ debit/ Net Banking/ PAYTM/UPI and the status shows not OK, it means the transaction is canceled.
  • Such candidates need to pay the fees again and ensure the fee status is OK.
  • The amount will be automatically refunded for the canceled transactions by the concerned banks to the respective accounts.

Note – Submit only one application form. Multiple applications from one candidate will be rejected.

  • JEE Main 2022 Form Correction will not be provided this year. Candidates are therefore advised to fill their application form carefully.
  • Earlier, NTA used to provide a one-time facility to make corrections to the submitted application form with an additional fee payment.

JEE Main 2022 Application Form: Instructions For Creating Password

While filling JEE Main 2022 Application Form, the candidate will be required to choose the password and security question. Candidates are required to save their passwords for future logins. Candidates are advised not to share their passwords with anybody, NTA or NIC takes no responsibility for any kind of misuse of the password. Candidates should remember to log out at the end of their session so that the particulars of the candidate cannot be tampered with or modified by unauthorized persons.

Instructions to be kept in mind while creating the password are as follows:

  • Password must be 8 to 13 characters long.
  • Password must have at least one uppercase alphabet.
  • Password must have at least one lower case alphabet.
  • Password must have at least one numeric value.
  • Password must have at least one special character e.g. !@#$%^&*-

JEE Main 2022 Application Form: How to Reset Password?

In case the password is misplaced by aspirants, the following ways can be used to set a new one:

  • Use Security Question and your answer during form filling.
  • Use verification code sent via text message at your registered mobile number.
  • Use the reset link sent via Email at your registered Email address.

EWS Reservation

How to Apply for EWS Reservation in JEE Main 2022?

NTA has issued a notice declaring applicability of the 10% Economically Weaker Section reservation for candidates applying for JEE Main 2019 and onwards. Hence, candidates belonging to the EWS category are advised to mark themselves as such in the application form. Check JEE Main 2022 Reservation Criteria

Steps to apply for EWS Reservation in JEE Main 2022 are:

  • Visit the official website
  • Look for the Application form link.
  • While filling the form mark yourself as EWS Category.
  • Save the form with the accurate details.

There is no need to upload the supporting document/EWS certificate in the application form. Though it will be required at the time of applying for JEE Advanced 2022

Can I get admission in NIT Calicut through JEE Main?

Yes, JEE Main exam is conducted usually to fill the B.Tech seats for the NIT colleges. The candidates if willing to take up admission in the IITs have to appear for the JEE Advanced. Your marks should be equivalent to the cut off NIT, Calicut for admission.

Can I apply for Phase 4 if I have not applied for the previous phases?

No, NTA holds the application process for all the sessions freshly, hence even if you haven’t appeared for the initial rounds you can still appear for Phase 4 of the JEE Main Exam. The final decision of conducting the exam has not yet been released by the board.

For JEE Main 2021, April and May session exam dates have been postponed until further notice, the renewed dates for the same are expected to be declared soon. NTA will most likely conduct the last 2 phases of JEE Main 2021 during the months of July and August, 2021 respectively. Hence, you are requested to wait patiently and keep checking the official website.

No you cannot apply for the session of April that has been postponed, but if eligibile you can apply for the next session of May. April exam which was scheduled from April 27-30, 2021 has been postponed with no new updates regarding the same and hence May session registration dates are also revised. While applying for the exam do I have to submit scanned copy of birth certificate as well?

At the time of submitting your JEE Main online application form you do not have to submit a scanned copy of your birth certificate because your class 10 certificate will be the proof of your date of birth. The mandatory documents required for submission are Class 10 & 12 marksheet/certificate, Caste certificate, Domicile certificate, Passport photo in JPG/JPEG format with a size of 10kb to 200kb and a scanned signature in JPG/JPEG format with a size of 4kb to 30kb.

Will I be allowed to made correction in my category in the application form?

Unfortunately, category once filled in the application form cannot be changed or modified while the correction window is open. However you can correct other parameters including that of name, paper, address, date of birth, contact number, photo, signature and exam center preference by paying additional fee for the same. Will I get any confirmation mail after registering for the exam?

On successful completion of the registration process, an acknowledgement page will pop up and you can download or take printout of the same for future reference. NTA will not send any confirmation mail individually to a candidate. Admit cards will be made available on the official website for registered candidates only. How can I register from my phone for the exam?

To register from phone, you need to have an updated browser with good internet connectivity. Photographs and signature along with other documents need to be uploaded, so you must have adequate software and smartphone installed in the phone. I have regidtered myself in general category for the jee mains examination, but i need to change my category, can i do so for the further remaining attempts?(i gave jan and feb as general, but want to change my category for the remaining attempts)

Yes you can change the category in remaining attempts but for any kind of claims, supporting documents must be produced at the time of counselling and admission. Yes, you can change the exam center. Since JEE Main will be conducted in 4 phases this year, every time you register yourself for the phase, you can opt for a different exam center according to your choice. This has been done to increase the convenience of the students looking at the conditions of the pandemic. 

Can I give paper 1 and paper 2 in first attempt and only paper 2 in second attmept?

No, you cannot do that . You'll have to reappear for the Mains again. The IITs have taken this decision to make sure that the first time qualifiers do not suffer. Another reason is that, after a year , there may be a chance of candidates forgetting the concepts needed for MAINS exam. 

Is there any relaxation in percentage requirement of class 12th in JEE Main?

Yes, recently the Education Ministry has removed the 75% marks in Class 12 as eligibility criteria for NITs, IIITs; admission to be based on JEE-Mains. It has announced relaxation in admission criteria for NITs and centrally funded technical institutions by waiving off requirement of 75 percent marks in class 12.

We had given Feb session exam.During feb exam we had apply for one session only. Now we want toapply for march & furthersessions. We are not able to apply. Please suggest.

March session of JEE Main is scheduled from March 15-18, 2021 and registration window for the same is open from March 2 to 6. Those who have not registered earlier need to visit the official website for registration by paying application fees. You can also register for April and May session as well.

How many times can someone register for exam before completing class 12?

You can apply only once before passing 12th exam i..e. when you are appearing for the 12 th exam. Only those who qualify 12th in 2021 or maximum in 2020 are eligible to apply. The last date for fee submisison was january 24, 2021, so you might have exceeded the time or rthere might be some server issue. In future if such situation arises, try changing the browser to an updated version. Also it is suggested to register in advance rather than waiting for the last date to avoid any delay.
